 The Palmarium reserve, also named Ankanin'ny Nofy (dream nest) is situated on the East coast of Madagascar, a 50 ha place, embedded along the Ampitabe lake and the Indian ocean, in the Pangalanes Channel. 90 minutes from Tamatave away, the Palmarium is accessible only by boat (kilometre point 60). Indri, Sifaka, Coronatus, Varécia, variegata, Propithèques, Aye Aye etc)... a very singular terrestrial wildlife as well as a really outstanding flora (orchids, carnivorous plants, granadilla wood, mahoganies, voyager trees…) and the most beautiful and rarest Madagascan palm-trees (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, and also Voanioala and Lemurophoenix). |
